BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Steuben County Department of Public Works announced that tipping fees at the Steuben County Landfill and all of its transfer stations will see an increase starting on July 1st.

The fee increase will fund the Solid Waste Division Enterprise Fund in order to cover equipment costs, wages, and capital improvements to the landfill's infrastructure. This is the first modification to fees since 2022, and is being done to cover the rising costs of landfill upkeep.

The increases apply to private entities like local businesses and industries, and local political entities within Steuben County.

A garbage dump at the landfill in Bath will now cost $48 compared to $44. Construction debris dumps are now $55, up from $47.

For special cases such as box springs, mattresses, and couches, the price for dumping increases from $10 to $15.
