NEW YORK, N.Y. (WENY) -- Due to the heat wave this week, Governor Kathy Hochul has granted free admission to state park sites for this week.  

To beat the heat New Yorker’s have free admission to all state park locations June 19 and June 20.  

Cooling misters and sprays will be provided at several state park sites including Chenango Valley State Park here in the Southern Tier.  

Select beaches and pools will also open early.
