NYCBL releases 2024 Prospects Game roster
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) - The New York Collegiate Baseball League has released the roster for the 2024 NYCBL Prospects Game. Players will have the opportunity to play in front of Major League Baseball scouts.
Multiple players from the Horseheads Hitmen and Hornell Steamers were selected, including a couple of locals.
Horseheads grads, Matt Procopio and Lucas Granger made the roster for the Horseheads Hitmen. Procopio is currently hitting .318 with 5 RBI's, while Granger is batting .350 with 2 home runs and 4 RBI's. Joining them is catcher, Jake Ambrosio who boasts a .409 batting average with 2 home runs and 6 RBI's.
Danik Reed and Braden McLin were selected from the Hornell Steamers.
In 4 games so far, Reed has pitched 7 innings with 10 strikeouts. McLin is hitting .425 with one home run and 11 RBI's. He was recently named NYCBL Player of the Week.
The NYCBL Prospects Game is scheduled for Monday, June 24th at Liberty University in Virginia.
