Thousands of People Came to Downtown Wellsboro for 82nd Laurel Festival Parade
WELLSBORO, Pa (WENY) -- Thousands of people gathered in downtown Wellsboro this afternoon to enjoy the 82nd Annual Laurel Festival Parade. The parade spotlighted a variety of attraction like marching bands, fire trucks, bagpipers, dance troupes, antique tractors and and vibrant floats.
The Laurel Festival is a celebration dedicated top the mountain laurel, Pennsylvania's state flower. The 2024 parade them was in "In the Jungle," adding a wild and colorful twist to the festivities.
In addition to the parade, the event also featured the Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen Pageant, with participants coming from all over the Keystone State.
The coronation ceremony for the Laurel Queen will take place tonight at 6:30 pm in the Wellsboro High School Auditorium.
