Glove House holds 20th Annual benefit BBQ in Wisner Park

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Earlier today in Wisner Park, the 20th Annual Barbeque in the Park took place benefiting Glove House and its efforts to help local families.
Each meal purchased benefits Glove House's mission of providing support to local youth and families that they serve through person-centered and trauma-informed incentives.
Glove House leadership also made a statement stating how the event has become a cornerstone in their efforts -- but that it also goes beyond the fundraising aspect by bringing Elmira together and creating a sense of community with the city and its surroundings.
"We also run health homes, foster care, other preventative services in the area here. But we also do it across the other regions of the Finger Lakes and the southern tier. So Glove House has grown from being established right here in Elmira in 1970 and has transitioned to, going into other counties across the state, bringing services to help keep families together," said Glove House President and CEO Dr. Keith R. McGriff.
Those interested in providing support such as donations or interest in applying to be a foster parent can visit the glove house website.
