Remembering Trooper Christoper Skinner Killed 10 Years Ago

CHENANGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- This morning, New York State Police, the Broome County Sheriff's Department, the Department of Transportation, family, and friends gathered to remember Trooper Christopher G. Skinner who was killed 10 years ago during a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in Chenango.
Skinner was intentionally hit and died when a vehicle veered from the driving lane. Authorities say Skinner died immediately from the impact.
The man who was found guilty of Trooper Skinner's murder was convicted in 2016 of murder in the first degree and later died in prison in 2018.
Skinner, a 42-year-old veteran of 13 years was a member of the Troop C Traffic Incident Management Detail.
