OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- An iconic Owego mural is getting a revamp.

The art display is located above the Early Owego Antique Center at the intersection of North Ave. and Main St.

Originally painted in 2001, the mural has faded over the years but painters were out there this week refreshing the work. The newly refreshed mural does not look completely finished yet, but a WENY News reporter who visited the mural saw new features including a redesigned view of the Susquehanna River, and a view of iconic Owego-area buildings, a new addition.

Painters seem to be keeping the giant block lettering that reads "Owego" and the map of the Village's downtown which shows directions, parking locations and street names.
