Man pleads guilty to 2023 Elmira murder

CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 23-year-old man will spend at least 20 years behind bars after pleading guilty on Wednesday, May 15th to murder in the second degree. Following the plea, Davonte Alligood was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of life in prison.
According to Chemung County District Attorney Weeden Wetmore, Alligood admitted to shooting and murdering 56-year-old Willie Davis on January 19th in a home on West 3rd St. in Elmira.
