Elmira Police arrest on weapons and menacing charges

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 30-year-old man was arrested by Elmira Police after they said he threatened someone while holding handgun in the morning hours of Wednesday, May 15th. As a result, James Jenkins was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing.
According to police, police initially responded after getting a report of an assault. Police say Jenkins threatened the victim while displaying a handgun in 300 block area of South Ave. As of the morning of May 15th, Jenkins was still awaiting arraignment in Elmira City Court.
