Missing Athens Woman with Dementia Found Safe
4PM UPDATE: According to authorities on scene, Johnston has been found alive in a wooded area near the train tracks between Route 220 and 199 and is safe.
"She was found by a couple of people [who] were walking the train tracks and by what we can figure now, she was walking on Route 220... We don't know if she had fallen over or walked down towards the train tracks [but] she [came to] a fence, where it appears she got under some coverage and kind of stayed there for the night. That's where she was spotted by the people on the train tracks," said the Chief of the Athens Borough Police Department, Carla Dieg.
Chief Dieg said Johnston is alert, but is dehydrated. She said Johnston was able to crack jokes as EMS workers put her in the ambulance, where she was taken to Robert Packer hospital to be checked out.
