Mark Twain sculpture in Riverfront Park now on display

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Mark Twain sculpture in Riverfront Park in Downtown Elmira is now on display.
The sculpture can be seen at the Mark Twain Riverfront Park on West Water Street. The sculpture resembles Mark Twain's Quarry Farm home at the base of a tree, with books on the end of the tree's branches. It pays tribute to Elmira's literacy legacy and challenges with modern literacy.
The Elmira City Council approved the statue back in September, with a $25,000 price tag.
