WAVERLY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Waverly man was arrested on Thursday for exposing himself to a 17-year-old girl near the Lincoln Street Elementary School in Waverly.

Police said 77-year-old Eugene Elston is alleged to have exposed himself first from the doorway area of his home, and then he walked out of the house to follow the victim to the school.

Police arrested Elston at his home without incident. He was arraigned in Tioga County, New York CAP Court and released.

An order of protection was granted to the victim. 

The Waverly Central School District issued a statement this morning and said staff contacted 911 as soon as they found out what had happened and reiterated the incident did not occur on school grounds.
