Hilltop Inn prepares for annual St. Patrick's Day celebration
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Hilltop Inn is gearing up for another St. Patrick’s Day celebration, happening next weekend. St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, which means Hilltop Inn owner Mike Sullivan is making a few changes to make the celebration memorable.
March 17th will be an all-day celebration at the Irish restaurant, with a breakfast/brunch special starting at 10:00 a.m. Then, at noon, Sullivan’s lifelong friend and local Irish singer Pat Kane plans to sing for customers and perform shows all day until 8:00 p.m.
Kane has a dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States. He has been singing and entertaining for open ears and hearts since he was a young child.
“You can go back to Pat Kane and so many other Irish musicians that have started here or are based here,” Sullivan said. “Really...I think it’s the heritage and the family traditions that have go on...that just make it so beloved here.”
Sullivan said Hilltop Inn is going “old school” this year, with all Covid-19 restrictions off the table. That means hundreds are expected to show up for this annual celebration, just like last year.
“Now, you can come up and just relax and have a good time,” he said. “We suggest a reservation if you want a seat...but let’s just come up, relax, have a good time, enjoy the fellowship, enjoy one another and enjoy our time together.”
People will also get a chance to enjoy a performance by the Ring of Chairraighe dancers at 5:30 p.m. on the deck of the restaurant.
