ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WENY) -- S & K Tactical is a new uniform store set for their grand opening Friday March 1st. The new uniform shop located on College Ave in Elmira Heights specializes in providing first responder uniforms for Police, Fire, and EMS personnel. Owners Michael Schrock and Peter Kadar are both former first responders who felt opening a uniform store in Chemung County would be beneficial for todays local first responders.  

"We noticed that there was somewhat of a need in Chemung County for a local shop for our first responders so we were sitting around talking one day and the idea came up and so we went with it;" says Schrock 

The new uniform store offers a variety of different items including full uniforms for Police departments, Fire departments, and EMS departments along with body armor and boots.  

A lot of the stuff we sell is tactical there's a lot  of enhancements on the products durability wise, performance wise, and it enhances the safety whether its a fireman or police officer;" says Kadar.  

Right now Mike and Peter's shop is in store purchase based only offering custom uniforms by request. 

We're doing in store only right now, eventually we might branch off to online sales but some of our stuff you have to show ID to purchase so right now we're doing in store only;" says Schrock. 

The shop will also sell Fire Department Coffee with every purchase with funds going towards helping those who are sick or injured on the job. 

S & K Tactical will be open  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
