SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) -- Police said they arrested two people after a high speed chase that started in Pennsylvania and ended in New York.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Jessica M. Neally of Lindley, N.Y. and 22-year-old Nicholas A. Lowry of Liberty, Pa were arrested in the town of Southport late Friday night.

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office said they were dispatched to the Pennsylvania State line in Southport just after 9:00 p.m.  They say Pennsylvania State Police were involved in a high speed chase when the suspects crossed into New York, where the Sheriff's office then got involved.  Authorities say the chase continued until the suspects car turned on Sagetown Road in Southport, where it lost control and crashed.

Police said they took the driver, Neally, and the passenger, Lowry, into custody.  Authorities said they found methamphetamine in the car.  Police said both Neally and Lowry were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree.  Neally was charged with Unlawfully fleeing a Police Officer, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and numerous Vehicle and Traffic violations.

The Sheriff's office said that Neally and Lowry were processed at the Chemung County Sheriff's Office, and then were turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office for the felony warrants out there. Additional charges are pending out of Pennsylvania.
