Ithaca Police: Body found under bridge, investigation underway

ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Ithaca Police Department started a death investigation after the body of a man was found under a bridge Monday afternoon.
IPD said the man was found under the bridge near Cecil A. Malone Drive and Mary Street around 5 p.m. Officers found the man after getting a report of a person who was unconscious and not breathing. Officers said when they arrived, along with other first responders, the subject was determined to be deceased.
The 37-year-old man was identified, but his name is being withheld until his next of kin has been notified. The man's body was turned over to the Tompkins County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
