Kara Jeffers

Kara Jeffers became WENY's Pennsylvania State Capitol Correspondent in November 2023, after starting her career with Lilly Broadcasting at WENY's sister station, Erie News Now in September of 2022 as a morning news reporter.
Texas born, and St. Louis raised, Kara is ecstatic to be covering state government.
She graduated from William Woods University with a B.S. in Communication, and emphasis in Media Journalism, with a minor in Political Legal Studies. She spent most summer and winter breaks interning at the Lincoln County Journal in her hometown. Junior year, she produced a weekly newsletter titled 'The Scoop'.
Jeffers drinks her coffee black, her favorite book is Catlow by Louis L'Amour, and her passion is equipping communities with knowledge. She promises to chase excellence in reporting truth.
