CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Saturday, December 23rd, a man and woman in the City of Corning were arrested after a no-knock search warrant was executed at the former Old Stanton Hotel. According to the Corning City Police, Cory M. Johnson and Carissa J. Thompson were arrested after authorities seized a large amount of methamphetamine and cash.
Johnson and Thompson were taken to the Corning Police Department for processing before being turned over to the Steuben County jail for arraignment. Both Johnson and Thompson are two-time convicted felons, with Thompson being on New York State Parole for drug-related convictions. The search warrant that was executed by authorities stemmed from a 2-month investigation into the alleged sales and possession of methamphetamine by the people living in the apartment.
Both Johnson and Thompson were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class "A-2" felony.
They both will be held at the Steuben County Jail without bail because of their prior felony convictions.
