Former Moretti's Restaurant in Elmira Demolished
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Demolition crews began work on Tuesday to raze a former Elmira mainstay.
The former Moretti's Restaurant at 800 Hatch Street was torn down, after sitting vacant for several years. The restaurant served as a staple in the community for decades, until it closed in 2020.
The building later fell into foreclosure, and was purchased at auction in 2022 by Blaisdell Associates in Elmira for $40,200.
No word on what future plans there may be for the property.
