HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Bear, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Horseheads Community Animal Shelter!

Bear is a 10-month-old American Bulldog pitbull mix. While he is still a puppy, he does not have the stereotypical puppy energy that many his age showcase. "He is inquisitive but he does it at his pace," said Mike Bombarger, the handler for Horseheads Community Animal Shelter.

Bear does not get along well with dogs bigger than him, and cats are a hard pass for him. However, he loves children. Bear's old home had a 7-year-old and a 3-year-old living with him. The family had to give him up due to allergies.
