An Evening with Santa at Williams Subaru in Sayre
SAYRE, N.Y. (WENY) -- More than 100 people made their way to Williams Subaru in Sayre for an evening with Santa on Sunday night. The line was out the door to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the event was totally free.
An organizer of the event explained why events in tight knit communities like this matters.
"So we measure all of these events in smiles, as you look around the room, kids are excited, Santa's here, this is what the holidays are all about, and really what Williams Auto Group is all about too," said Dalton Williams, the vice president of Williams Auto Group.
In addition to photos with Santa, kids could make a build-a-bear, and enjoy some snacks too. This is the fourth year of An Evening with Santa, and another organizer says its all about community.
"I'm proud to be apart of is our community, and its awesome. It feels great to give back and bring something like this local. You don't have to drive too far, I know when I was a kid I didn't have that growing up, so I really hope the [community appreciates] that its here now," Sean Anthony, broker and owner of Howard Hanna At Home Realty.
Kids of all ages attended today. Some came prepared with lists and special requests for Santa. Three kids told us what's on their wishlist this year.
"I said surprise me. I asked for Legos! [I want] a rocket ship," said siblings Quinn, Paislee, and Cael.
Organizers say this is a yearly tradition that they hope to continue.
