CAROLINE COUNTY, VIRGINIA (WENY) -- A man and woman from Elmira were arrested in Virginia, after police say the pair led authorities on a high-speed chase in a stolen pickup truck.

On  December 14th, authorities say a deputy with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a white Chevrolet pickup that was traveling on Route 2 near Bowling Green, Virginia. When the deputy put on his emergency lights, the truck sped off, launching a pursuit that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.

According to the sheriff's office, the chase continued until the truck ran out of gas. That's when sheriff's deputies arrested 21-year-old Kaitlyn Hoskins, and 20-year-old Christian Brown of Elmira. Police say their investigation also revealed the truck had been reported stolen from Elmira, following a burglary at a rail station.

Hoskins is charged with possession of stolen property, eluding law enforcement and reckless driving. She is now in the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bail. Brown is charged with possession of stolen property, and is in the jail on a $5,000 bond.

Authorities say they're working with law enforcement in Elmira, and more charges are pending.
