Ithaca Police arrest a person of interest in Saturday's shooting
UPDATE 11:30 PM: Ithaca Police say around 11:20 a.m. Sunday, December 10th a person of interest in Saturday, December 9th shooting was found in a car on Hector Street in Ithaca. The Tompkins County Sheriff's Department took Erymel Davis, 28, into custody. Deas was turned over to the Ithaca Police Department around 3:30 p.m.
Deas is charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and criminal possession in the second degree.
Deas was arrested in the Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail. He is scheduled to reappear on December 15th at 2:00 p.m.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at approximately 9:30 PM, Ithaca Police officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired on the 100 block of North Plain Street. Upon Arrival officers located a male with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Aid was immediately administered to the victim before the arrival of EMS.
Evidence shows that a verbal dispute encountered before gunshots were fired. Both parties knew each other. A witness on the scene reported that an older grey sedan was involved in the shooting which left the scene shortly after. The victim was flown to a regional trauma center where he is being listed in stable condition at this time.
