Elmira teen stabbed at Friday night football game

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Chemung County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing altercation that happened at the Elmira and Corning Football game on Friday, October 20th. Authorities responded to the incident around 8:40 p.m. involving two teenage girls in the Elmira High School parking lot.
According to the Sheriff's office, a 17-year-old student female from Corning High School is accused of stabbing an 18-year-old former Elmira High School Student.
The 18-year-old victim was taken to Guthrie's Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said the 17-year-old fled the scene before deputies arrived.
According to police, neither of the girls has been in the stadium watching the game, and they say it is unclear what led up to the incident. Police say both Elmira and Corning school districts are working with the Chemung County Criminal Investigation Unit.
