Cornell Cooperative Extension to Host Local Food Event

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County announced a local food-tasting event today Friday, September 15th.
Taste of Chemung, a local food tasting event, is being held on Thursday, September 28th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Meals on Wheels in Elmira. The event will showcase local food vendors to serve their ‘tastes’ to attendees. Along with that, guests can have a chance at basket raffles, games, and a cake walk.
Proceeds from the Taste of Chemung event will support CCE-offered programs such as Agriculture Education, 4-H Youth Development, Natural Resources and Community and Economic Vitality, and Horticulture & Master Gardeners.
Local vendors that have already been secured for the event include Hamlet Delights, Rye Bar, Meals on Wheels, Cubbie Bera Treats, and Annie’s Pancakes. Additionally, the current event sponsors are Vulcraft of New York, Visions Federal Credit Union, Hesselson's, Wegmans, and Chemung Canal Trust Company.
Tickets for Taste of Chemung are on sale now online or at the CCE Main Office. If they aren’t sold out, tickets will also be available at the door for $30 each. Presale tickets will go for $25 per person with an additional $2 processing fee for online purchases.
