Wegmans Grant to Help Steuben County Seniors

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - Thanks to a $2,000 grant from Wegmans, senior residents in Steuben County will have an easy method to quickly provide emergency medical information during a crisis.
According to Steuben County officials, the money will be spent on a health file, or file of life project, which is placed inside a waterproof folder and then stored in the resident's freezer.
In case of an emergency, a sticker on the refrigerator door alerts emergency responders to the folder's location.
For anyone not homebound, a smaller version can be carried in the wallet.
Starting on Thursday, anyone interested in a health file can stop by the Steuben County Office of Aging to get one.
