Fire Departments in New York to Receive Federal Funding

(WENY) - Several fire departments in New York State will be receiving funding for emergency personnel.
According to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office, $3.2 million will go toward fire departments across the state. The funding will be used to provide protective gear, training, and supplies to emergency personnel.
Among the fire departments receiving money are Hammondsport Fire District for $160,000 and the the Fremont Volunteer Fire Department for $46,016.
"New York's firefighters work tirelessly to protect our communities," said Senator Gillibrand. "This federal funding will provide New York's firefighters with the essential training, equipment and supplies they need to respond to emergency situations safely and efficiently. I will continue to working to ensure New York's fire departments are well-equipped to provide protection for our communities."
