BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Eager customers will not have to wait much longer for the new DQ Grill & Chill in Big Flats to open its doors. Dairy Queen said the restaurant plans to open on August 10th. 

According to Dairy Queen, the restaurant’s owner Milan Patel, has a background in hospitality management and plans to provide a friendly, welcoming establishment to his hometown community. 

“I chose to join the Dairy Queen brand because the soft serve and Blizzards are a timeless and classic treat that I’ve always loved,” he said. “I’m eager to use this opportunity to give back to the Elmira community.”  

Back in August of 2022, construction plans were underway for the new Dairy Queen location. One year later, the restaurant plans to open at 873 County Road 64 in Big Flats.
