181 Years of the Chemung County Fair
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Chemung County Fair is back from August 1st through the 6th. While celebrating the 181st year, the week is jam-packed with rides, food, and demolition derbies.
"We've got the demolition derby going on live action, lots of mud, lots of cars banging and slamming, looking for some fire and some flames, but everybody will be safe behind us," shared Donald Wainwright, Director of the Chemung County Fair.
Throughout the week-long fair, there is plenty to do including, but not limited to:
Wednesday, August 2nd
- Live Country music with Parmalee
Thursday, August 3rd
- 9 am: Hunter Horse Show
- 11 am: Open Dairy Show
- 5 pm: Classic Car Cruise-In
Friday, August 4th
- 6:30 pm: Truck Pull
Saturday, August 5th
- 8 am: Open English Horse Show
- 7 pm: NY Tract Pullers Association Tractor Pull
Sunday, August 6th
- 1 pm: ATV and Dirt Bike Rodeo
