ITHACA, N.Y. According to the Tompkins County Sheriffs Office, 25-year-old Anthony Cruz has a warrant out for criminal mischief and assault.
On the morning of June 29th, police say Cruz and another person, Makendra Peterson, 23, of Painted Painted Post, followed a pregnant woman after a road rage incident to a nearby Dunkin Donuts. When she came out of the store, she found her car keyed and the car from the incident next to hers.
Police say when she went to speak with Cruz she was punched in the face, and in an attempt to catch her balance, grabbed the car door. That's when Peterson allegedly threw the car into reverse, and dragged the woman 50 feet.
Police say Cruz is known to frequent the Elmira area.
Peterson, who was the driver, has been arrested on assault charge. Peterson was held upon arraignment and has since been released pending a future court date.
In the meantime police is asking for help in locating Cruz, who they say has been involved in multiple road rage incidents throughout the area.
