Tompkins Co. residents invited to check out prospective voting machines

ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Elections, especially polling machines, have become a hot button topic across the United States. In an effort to assuage voters, the Tompkins County Board of Elections is asking for the public’s feedback on potential new voting machines.
Residents and locals alike will have the opportunity to view these machines from a handful of providers in a series of upcoming sessions. In these sessions, attendees will be able to use example ballots and view the voting process for each machine provider, all of which have been certified by New York State.
Staff will be on hand to record feedback from the attendees to help them choose the best voting machines for the 2024 voting cycle in Tompkins County.
All sessions will take place at the Tompkins County Legislature Chambers on 121 East Court St. in Ithaca. The Board of Elections is asking the public to use the Dewitt Park entrance.
The first session is presented by Clear Ballot and will take place on July 11th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The second is presented by Hart Intercivic on July 13th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The third and final session takes place on July 26th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
