Hazy Tuesday

Slightly cooler weather is likely as we move into Tuesday after a weak cold front passed by. A couple of sprinkles were felt across the Twin Tiers, but we were mainly dry into Tuesday morning. The cold front did bring some northwesterly winds that brought some cooler temperatures and smoke from Canadian wildfire smoke. Hazy conditions will continue today before the smoke plume should exit the region by Wednesday. Temperatures will be in the lower-70s. An air quality alert will be in effect until midnight Tuesday night. Mostly clear Tuesday night with lows in the mid-40s. Drier weather and mostly sunny skies continue Wednesday with highs in the lower-70s. A low pressure system off the New England Coast will bring some moisture to the Twin Tiers late week with showers possible Thursday and Friday. The coolest temperatures of the week will be Thursday with highs in the mid-60s followed by the 70s Friday. Rainfall amounts will be light and most will accumulate one to two tenths of an inch. The weekend will start off dry as high pressure briefly builds and temperatures will climb into the upper-70s. However, Sunday brings yet another chance for rain showers with temperatures continuing in the upper-70s. These showers will possibly continue into early next week as high temperatures continue in the mid to upper-70s.
