BIG FLATS, NY (WENY) -- The T.G.I. Friday's restaurant in Consumer Square has unexpectedly closed its doors.

Employees tell WENY News the restaurant closed its doors after business Monday evening, giving workers no advance noticed it was shutting down. Some of the employees say they worked at the location for more than 20 years.

According to now former employee Jennifer Parks, she said there wasn't a group meeting or email to discuss anything. She said she's upset and angry about the lack of communication and answers. "They're messing with our money. This is a big corporation. We have to give a two weeks notice if we get a new job...so what makes it right? I've only been there a little less than a year, but how am I going to pay my bills? They could've let us know something," said Park.

On Tuesday, a piece of paper was taped to the door, reading:

"We regret to inform you that as of April 3, 2023, this Fridays location has closed. We are extremely grateful to our loyal guests and to the staff. We invite you to visit our other Fridays at 2445 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, NY AND 9090 Destiny Drive, Syracuse NY. Look forward to seeing you there."

Phone calls to the restaurant by WENY News were unanswered Tuesday afternoon.
