UPDATE: According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, James Miller was a former Steuben County Assistant District Attorney.


CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - A Corning man is charged with possession of child pornography involving minors.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, New York State Police received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that 63 year old James Miller's email account allegedly uploaded suspected images of child pornography.

On May 26, 2021, New York State Police conducted a search warrant at Miller's home on Fox Ridge Road and seized several digital devices including 84 images of child pornography. Police looked at another computer and seized 22 more images of child pornography.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Miller made an appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian Payson and was released.
