Schuyler County Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Guns, Property

VETERAN, N.Y. (WENY) - A Schuyler County man was arrested after allegedly stealing property along with guns.
Sheriff's deputies said they received a call for a suspicious vehicle at a home on Mallory Hill Road in the town of Veteran on March 9th. There, Deputies discovered that a number of guns were allegedly stolen along with other property.
After further investigation, members of the Chemung County Sheriff's Office were led to Mitstifer's home on East Sullivanville Road in Horseheads, where a search warrant was executed.
The Sheriff's Office said several guns were recovered along with jewelry and cash.
As a result of the investigation and search warrant, 26 year old Shawn Mitstifer of Cayuta was arrested for burglary. He was arraigned and brought to the Chemung County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
