Clothing and Food Drive at local Elmira Church
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Frederick Douglass Church on Madison Avenue hosted their monthly clothes and food drive, Saturday morning. Food and clothing were donated by members of the church and local organizations.
“Today we are here at Fredrick Douglass having a clothes give away,” said Reverend Cheral Nelson.
Rev. Nelson wants to help the Elmira community, even on snowy, February days, when the turnout is low. The need still remains.
“Oh...it's just that giving loving that reaching out to other people and watch their expressions and see how it makes them feel, it just wonderful to see someone else happy,” said Rev. Nelson.
The drive happens monthly in Elmira. Clothes do rotate based on the season.
