Meet Wayne, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week!
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Wayne, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!
Wayne is a one-year-old male Labrador retriever mix who loves meeting new friends and is the perfect valentine! He gets along with other dogs, but he will need to have a meet-and-greet first. The shelter is unsure how he behaves around cats, but believes he can adjust fairly quickly in a household with one.
As for children, the SPCA currently recommends Wayne for households with children six and older. However, due to his gentle and kind personality, it is possible that that age limit can be lowered.
The shelter currently has a few spots open for its Valentine's Day Vaccine Clinic. To make an appointment, visit the SPCA's website here or give them a call tomorrow at (607) 732-1827. Education courses for students in elementary through high school levels will also be offered throughout the month of February, specifically during Winter Break. For more information and to sign up, click here.
Tickets are also on sale for the SPCA's latest fundraiser in collaboration with Ally’s Purse Party. The event is returning after a three-year hiatus on Saturday, Feb. 25. Held at the Radisson Hotel Corning, the four-hour party gives attendees the chance to win thousands of dollars of prizes stuffed into designer bags. The shelter is also looking for adult dry dog and cat food donations, as it will be receiving more dogs and cats in the near future.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Wayne, fill out an application on the SPCA's website.
