WEST ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 72-year-old Pine City woman died as a result of her injuries after being struck by a pick-up truck yesterday afternoon in West Elmira. According to police the woman, who was not identified, was out walking her dog in the cross walk of the intersection of W. Water Street and Glen Avenue when a 37-year-old man driving a GMC Sierra pick-up truck made a left turn and struck her. 

Police say they are investigating and that the driver, who was also not identified, is cooperating.

WEST ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - One person is in the hospital after being hit by a car in West Elmira Thursday afternoon.

The accident took place at around 1:30 PM Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Water Street and Glen Avenue in West Elmira.

West Elmira Police said that the injury wasn't serious, but that the person was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
