Kelly Houck Named New Superintendent of Bath Central School District

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - The Bath Central School District Board of Education has named Kelly Houck as its new superintendent.
Currently the district superintendent for GST BOCES, Houck will take over on July 1st following the retirement of Joseph Rumsey.
Prior to GST BOCES, Houck was the Superintendent of the Dundee Central School District from 2014 to 2021. She was also superintendent of the Canaseraga Central School District from 2012 to 2014.
She held numerous educational and administrative positions at Bradford Central School District from 2001 to 20-12.
Houck earned both her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her master's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Mansfield University.
"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to join the Bath CSD team and community!" said Houck. "I look forward to getting to know better all students, faculty, staff, and all stakeholders, as we begin to work together to build upon the strong foundation Bath CSD is known for and incredibly proud of. I am excited to use my skill set, experiences, and passion to assist in creating, sustaining, and supporting the best learning opportunities for all students for years to come at Bath CSD."
According to Joseph Rumsey, "As an individual who has grown up here in Bath, graduated from Haverling, and has poured his heart and soul into this school system for the past 10+ years, I am truly excited to hand the reins off to Mrs. Houck as the next Superintendent. I have known Kelly for many years and have observed her energy and talents first-hand as a colleague in this region. I have no doubt that she will be the perfect fit for leading our schools in the years to come!"
