NICHOLS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Stars from CBS's television show "Tough as Nails" went to a watch party to celebrate the premiere of fourth season at the Tioga Downs Casino Resort, Wednesday evening.

This show is an inspiring competition where 12 essential workers test their life skills at real job sites to come out on top with a cash prize.

Competitor Jacob Cope is from Choconut, Pennsylvania Cope is a pipeline laborer who competed in season four.

“Sent in a picture of me on the job, actually...a job in Taughannock and they called me and there's a long process to this whole thing,” he said. “I was actually supposed to...I went down for a test pilot for season one.”

Cope originally qualified for season one. Sadly, he was injured before he started filming, tearing his quadriceps. Cope said this new season tells his comeback story.

“It took me four seasons to get back on this...so, it's just been a long time coming but...you just can't give up,” he said. “You've got to believe that there's hope.”

Cope said he is grateful for the experience in "Tough as Nails." The cast and crew supported one another, especially when it came to competing in the challenges.

“Everybody there was great,” he said. “The other contestants...you feel like family after a while...so, it's a really good feeling.”

Cope added, he is proud to be on a show that represents blue-collar workers.

“Blue-collar workers are so important to this country for many reasons and that's another reason why I wanted to go on this show,” he said. “It's because...this is what keeps America running. Everything from our farmers to the policemen...the firefighters.”
