Sen. Chuck Schumer Visits All 62 Counties in New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (WENY) - After being re-elected to a 5th term in the Senate, Senator Chuck Schumer completed his 24th consecutive tour of visiting all 62 counties in New York.
The senator's office says Schumer was the first New York public official to visit every single county in New York. It's a tradition he has continued each year he has been in office.
Schumer says by visiting each county, he learns about the needs of New Yorkers by talking to people rather than just sitting at a desk.
"At the close of twenty-four years, my beliefs are as clear as ever: 'Senators who stay in Washington and never return home are simply not doing their job.' Whether I'm eating ice cream at the State Fair in Syracuse or riding my bike in Brooklyn, New York is always on my mind, and I'm always learning directly from my constituents. To the New Yorkers who'd lost faith that Congress can do big things, this year was for you, and I will never stop fighting to deliver for New York."
Locally, Schumer visited the southern tier 13 times over the course of 20-22 and that figure is according to the senator's office.
