This Week in Wine Country: Finger Lakes Distilling
BURDETT, NY (WENY) -- This week in wine country, sponsored by Finger Lakes Wine Country, we're visiting Finger Lakes Distilling in Burdett, on Seneca Lake.
Open since 2009, founder and owner Brian McKenzie wanted to turn his passion for spirits into a small batch distillery, creating handcrafted whiskeys, bourbon, gun, vodka, brandy, grappa and liqueurs.
On October 9th, Finger Lakes Distilling will be releasing its McKenzie Single Malt Whiskey at its Highland Harvest Festival. The festival aims to celebrate the region's harvest season, as well as McKenzie's Scottish heritage. The event runs from 11AM - 6PM, and features the Caledonian Highlanders Pipe & Drum ban, the Ring of Chiarraighe Celtic Dancers, Step in Time Band, as well as a Scottish-inspired food menu, Scottish gifts available for purchase, as well as a genealogical expert from the The Scottish American Society.
