CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- City of Corning residents may face discolored water and low water pressure next week with the Water Department scheduled to flush City hydrants from Monday, Oct. 3rd to Friday, Oct. 7th. While the the City is adamant that the water will not be dangerous to your health, it could hurt your clothes. 

In the event that you experience discolored water, running the cold water until it becomes clear will reduce the potential of discolored water entering your hot water tank,” the City said in a press release.  

Flushing will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the following locations. 

Oct. 3rd – Pine St. West to City line 

Oct. 4th – Pine St. East to City line 

Oct. 5th – Houghton Plot to Bridge St. 

Oct. 6th – Bridge St. to Reynolds Ave. including W. William and Hillvue Ave. 

Oct. 7th – Reynolds Ave. to City line including areas above the railroad tracks
