Vietnam Reflections: Joe Clarke
(WENY) -- WENY News continues to share the stories of veterans in the Twin Tiers. This week, we are talking with Joe Clarke.
Joe served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Thailand, and working on combat aircraft conducting air strikes over North Vietnam.
Fast forward almost 50 years, Joe was looking for answers about his birth family, and he got the surprise of a lifetime after taking a DNA test. Not only did he find a half sister, Marcia Bixby Dunlap, who grew up just miles away from him in Elmira, he also learned that he had a half brother. His half brother, Thomas Bixby, was killed in action in Vietnam.
