NYCBL releases 2022 All-League selections
HORNELL, N.Y. (WENY) - The New York Collegiate Baseball League has released the 2022 All-League selections, with 4 players from the Hornell Steamers, and 2 players from the Mansfield Destroyers being recognized.
From Hornell are infielders Peyton Johnson and Paxton Hughes, and pitchers Joe Dolansky and Brody Burdett.
Johnson hit .326 this season with 22 RBIs, 2 home runs, and 5 extra-base hits. Paxton Hughes hit .341 this year and led the team in RBIs with 38. Dolansky pitched the most innings for Hornell with 52 where he was 5-3 with a 5.02 ERA and 54 strikeouts. Lastly, Burdett owned a 2.18 ERA in 41.1 innings. He was 4-0 with 49 strikeouts.
All four players helped Hornell to a 24-17 record and another trip to the Western Division Finals series.
Representing the Mansfield Destroyers are outfielders Sam Parks and Tyler Walters.
Parks hit .385 with Mansfield this season where he led the team in stolen bases with 28. Walters also had a stellar season at the plate, hitting .339 and he led the team in RBIs with 25 and home runs with 5.
