Grand Jury Indicts Elmira Man on Weapons Charges
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - A grand jury has indicted an Elmira man on weapons charges.
According to the Chemung County District Attorney's office, John Sever knowingly possessed a semi automatic rifle with bullets, a detachable magazine, and a pistol grip.
Sever was arrested on May 20th after police responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Lyon Street in Elmira.
Police said Sever had allegedly showed off his weapons to a guest and fired a shotgun out an upstairs window.
He was sentenced for criminal possession of a weapon.
