Newfield Man Arrested After Drone Search in Enfield

ENFIELD, NY (WENY) - On April 26th, New York State Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the town of Enfield.
During the investigation, it was discovered that 41 year old Roy Searles of Newfield is wanted on active warrants from the state of Louisiana. He had left the scene prior to the trooper's arrival.
New York State Police K9's and a drone searched the area. Searles was spotted by a trooper and tracked by a New York State Police K9 shortly after 2:00 p.m. in a nearby wooded area off Rumsey Hill Road and taken into custody.
Searles was transported to the Tompkins County Jail as he awaits extradition.
Troopers were assisted by numerous law enforcement agencies including the New York State Park Police, Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies, and Schuyler County Sheriff's Deputies.
