Sheriff's Office asking for public's help in Southport burglary

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Chemung County Sherriff's office is asking for the public's help with a burglary that took place in Southport.
On March 16th at 6:00 AM, deputies were sent to Tops Grocery Store on Cedar Street in Southport after learning that a burglary took place at Tops Gas station.
A male suspect entered the gas station breaking a window and stole items before leaving the area. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall. He was seen on video wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, a green winter coat, dark pants, and a dark facial covering.
The Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is working with the Elmira City Police Department Detective Bureau on these cases. Anyone with information
