ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WENY) - The village of Elmira Heights is giving away road salt for residents.

The salt will be available for pickup at the village garage located at the corner of Lynwood and East 9th street.

You can stop by with your container, Monday through Friday between 10 and 11 AM or 2 to 3 PM.

In order to receive the salt, you will need to show ID to prove that you live within the village.
