State police charge Massena man with second-degree murder in shooting of SUNY Potsdam student
POTSDAM, N.Y. (WENY)- New York State Police are conducting an ongoing investigation of a fatal shooting that occurred in the village of Potsdam, New York. Potsdam is about 65 miles north of Watertown, NY.
According to State Police, Friday, February 18th at about 5:51 p.m, Potsdam Police responded to a report of an unconscious female on College Park Road in the village.
Police located the 21-year-old victim lying on the side of the road with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Canton Potsdam Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the victim is Elizabeth Howell 21 years old of Patterson, NY, She is believed to be a student at SUNY Potsdam.
On Saturday, State Police have charged 31-year-old Michael J. Snow of Massena, NY, with one count of murder 2nd degree. He was arraigned in the town of Potsdam court and was taken into custody to St.Lawrence County Jail with no bail.
